POLICE SERVICE ACT - 1970 (ACT 350)

    Section - 33 - Duty in Case of Fire.

    (1) It shall be the duty of every police officer to assist in the extinguishment of all fires which threaten life or property and for such purpose a police officer may enter any building or part thereof and do all other things which he considers necessary to check the spread of the fire, and damage occasioned by such officer in the performance of his duty shall be deemed for all purposes to be damage by fire.

    (2) Any person who obstructs a police officer in the performance of his duties under this section shall be guilty of an offence and liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding one hundred new cedis or to imprisonment not exceeding six months, or to both.
